Music license

A usable song, with honest boundaries.

The organizer receives broad practical usage rights, while AI copyright, contributor consent, and third-party platform rules still matter.

What the organizer may do

After any required payment, the organizer may copy, download, share, publicly perform, distribute, synchronize with video, publish, and monetize the delivered Bandwagon song worldwide and indefinitely, subject to the Terms and permissions described below. Attribution to Bandwagon is appreciated but not required unless an order states otherwise.

What this license does not promise

Generative outputs may not be unique. A contractual right to use a song is not the same as exclusive copyright ownership. In the United States, copyright protection depends on sufficient human-authored expression, creative selection, arrangement, or modification; prompts alone may not qualify. Registration and platform eligibility are case-specific.

For the underlying generation software, Bandwagon currently operates ACE-Step 1.5 locally under its MIT software license. A software license does not guarantee that every output is non-infringing. Organizers should review lyrics, avoid artist imitation, and perform an originality check before a high-value commercial release.

Contributor and subject permission

A private family gift and a public advertising campaign are not the same use. The organizer is responsible for obtaining permission from contributors and identifiable subjects for public, promotional, or commercial use of their names, stories, written words, recordings, or likenesses. Bandwagon's default master uses recordings as source material for lyrics; it does not insert raw voice notes into the song.

Distribution and Content ID

Streaming services, distributors, collecting societies, and automated rights systems apply their own changing rules. Do not represent a song as exclusively human-made where disclosure is required, and do not register a non-exclusive or insufficiently human-authored element in a way that blocks legitimate third-party uses. Professional clearance is recommended for label, broadcast, political, advertising, or material-revenue use.
